Ace Frehley | Space Invader

 

Review: I had heard a lot of good things about the new Ace and was really excited about listening to it. Boy, was I disappointed. Don't get me wrong. Ace is a fantastic guitar player and has had some great songs in the past. His cover of New York Groove is great! This whole disc sounded like Ace is still stuck in the seventies. The guitar playing is great, the song writing is ok, and the whole feel was of sub-par production. I really felt like I was listening to his solo record from the seventies. He had written better stuff in the eighties. Remember Insane? Great song! Ace, you have got to re-invent yourself in this day and age. You did it in the eighties. There's no need to revert back to the seventies. Now, if you're a fan of the seventies, then you will love this disc. If you are looking for something fresh and new from Ace, then I'm sorry, but you will be disappointed. Hang in there Ace, we still love ya!
